One festival, many editions

Born in a marquee. Now wherever educators gather.

It started in 2010 on the lawns of Wellington College — keynotes and fierce debate alongside live music, street food and deckchairs. Sir Bob Geldof called it “Glastonbury for educators”.

Today that same warmth travels the world. Every edition is rooted in its own community, but each one shares the belief that great teaching deserves a celebration — not just a conference.

Our founders

Wellington College Education

The Festival of Education was founded by Wellington College in 2010, growing from a single summer gathering into the UK’s largest celebration of teaching. Nonpartisan and open to all parts of the sector, it has welcomed thousands of educators each year. Since 2026, EducationScape has taken over the operation of the Festival, carrying that founding spirit into editions around the world.
